Celebrate with us.
A lot of amazing things have happened in the two-and-a-half decades since the first Embedded Systems Conference.
Sparked by advances in microprocessor technology and the premise of ever-cheaper computing power in the 1980s, a whole generation of engineers would go on to invent a mind-bending list of technologies--fueling a revolution in digital technology and product development that is still ongoing.
What no one could have fully grasped was the enormous cultural and social changes that are resulting from this technological boom. Technology has given rise to a proliferation of devices that keep us perpetually connected, even when we would prefer not to be. And now that people can interact solely through the online personas they’ve created, we are now redefining the meaning of personal relationships.
Since 1987, the Embedded Systems Conference has been here, providing education and networking opportunities for innovative design engineers around the world. Many of you have been with us since the beginning, and many more have joined us along the way. And even more will be joining us in the future.
This celebration is not about us – it’s about you. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Embedded Systems Conference, we’re spotlighting the awe-inspiring engineers, innovations, and events that have influenced the way we all now work, play, and socialize.
We invite you to share with us your own experiences that we plan to broadcast in a variety of formats – from online to the digital editions of EE Times to DESIGN West 2013. So tell us: Why are you an engineer? What’s been the most memorable moment of your career to date? What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career?
Tell us your story: Email . Text, images, and video welcome!!!
